The EU; Norway and Switzerland citizens can work without special permission, the citizens of other countries have to prove their medical education is conformed to European standards and the employer have to make applications when hiring specialists outside EU. No special language skills are demanded, but all the documents have to be in Estonian

Enrollment requiments: 

The preconditions to enter residency training in University of Tartu are:
Degree in medicine, equivalent to the program in University of Tartu
Internship
If graduated university before than in 2003 knowledge of Estonian language
Working permit or permanent living permit, if foreign resident
Document which certifies the registration in Estonian Health Care Board as a physician or dentist
Applicants need to compete on residency examination, which are written and oral examinations.
Examinations are in June once a year

Selection Process
Selection Process Description: 

Applicants can apply for two different specialities . After succesfully completing the residency examination the applicant needs to assemble the residency plan for one year, cooperating with the general instructor of the speciality, the applicant has to decide, where and when the applicant wants to accomplish the residency plan

The junior doctor salary per hour is the minimum salary for doctors arranged between the Estonian Medical Association and the Estonian Hospitals Association. Officially the week has 32 hours for doctors in specialist training programs, practically the weeks are longer. The salary at the moment is 15.125 estonian crownes (15,65 EEK= 1EUR
