  Doctors with foreign qualifications can apply for a declaration of professional competence at the Ministery of Heath Care. There is a possibility to submit electronical through the BIG register. www: ribiz.nl/en/registration/. RIBIZ maintains the BIG register and processes requests for the recognition of foreign qualifications and is part of the Ministry of Health Care. Doctors can call to +900 899 8225.
In many cases the signature on the declaration must be “legalised” (validated) by the ministry of Foreign affairs.                                                                                                                                      When   the doctor is not an EU citizen you may need a work permit before you can take up employment in the Netherlands. Existent Medical Dedrees
Medical Degrees: 

 Physician (after finishing Medical School at one of eight universities); medical specialist (we have 32 recognised specialities), including general practitioners and occupational health.   
You need a high school degree that grants you access to a university. Then you need to enter Medical School either by high notes, a special selection program or by a lottery system. After finishing medical school you need to apply for a training post.
 
After successfully finishing your postgraduate training you have to registered as a medical specialist by one of the registration committees of the Royal Dutch medical Association.

Recertification Information: 

  There is not an examination for the recognition of diploma’s from other EU member states and  there is an examination when it concerns a diploma from a non EU country.

For other specialitities you apply directly for a training post in a hospital or specific department of medical specialists.

In the private sector  and the university hospitals there is additional payment for overtime and on call duties.
